Blog Tour Review - To Cage A God by Elizabeth May

Blog Tour Review - To Cage A God by Elizabeth May To cage a god is divine. To be divine is to rule. To rule is to destroy. Using ancient secrets, Galina and Sera’s mother grafted gods into their bones. Bound to brutal deities and granted forbidden power no commoner has held in a millennia, the sisters have grown up to become living weapons. Raised to overthrow an empire―no matter the cost. With their mother gone and their country on the brink of war, it falls to the sisters to take the helm of the rebellion and end the cruel reign of a royal family possessed by destructive gods. Because when the ruling alurea invade, they conquer with fire and blood. And when they clash, common folk burn. While Sera reunites with her estranged lover turned violent rebel leader, Galina infiltrates the palace. In this world of deception and danger, her only refuge is an isolated princess, whose whip-smart tongue and sharp gaze threaten to uncover Galina’s secret. Torn between desire and duty, Galina mus

Cora from Tea Party Princess takes the Inside Out challenge.

Good morning! Today in the Book Worm Hole I am delighted to be welcoming Cora, a tea party princess and fellow Northern Book Blogger. Cora is a fantastic blogger and I am very pleased she agreed to do my challenge.

Cora, Tea Party Princess 👑 @Corazzz Feb 15
@notsotweets You have incoming! Inside Out was HARD

First, please introduce yourself, including any blog addresses or twitter handles you like.

My name is Cora and I blog from my home Geet Up North in Northumerbland at http://teapartyprincess.co.uk/ and tweet at @Corazzz. I am *always* talking about book and I always want to talk about books. Plus, I don't bite. So come say hi!

Can you tell me about a book you have read that made you feel joy?

Pirates! By Celia Rees. I can still remember the first time I read this book, and although it truly is a rollercoaster of a read that made me feel every emotion under the sun, the thought of it fills my heart with joy. I loved Nancy and Minerva's journey, their strength, how they are connected. I suppose it's a sad kind of joy if I'm honest, but I wouldn't read any other book for a pick-me-up.

What about a book that filled you with sadness?

Lucas by Kevin Brooks. This is the first book that broke my heart. All I need to do is read the prologue and that's me, bawling my eyes out. The prejudice, the love, the tolerance, the intolerance, the sacrifice... It just breaks me. Just thinking about it makes me sad-sigh.

Have you read a book that made you feel angry?

The Exact Opposite of Okay by Laura Steven. WOW OK THIS BOOK. I get angry and shouty when I think about it, in the absolute best way. This book means to make you angry, and it makes my blood boil. It is superb. Izzie is my Queen.

Has a book ever disgusted you?

Asking For It by Louise O'Neill. The book itself doesn't disgust me, it is phenomenal. It's the state of society that disgusts me. Reading it I am beyond anger or sadness, I truly am disgusted. And it's marvellous. It gets the message over in such a way that it cannot be ignored.

Can you tell me about a book that made you afraid?

Slated by Teri Terry. It's a dystopia that feels far too believable, something that could honestly actually happen. It makes me scared for the future, because it wouldn’t take much for the future to turn into somethin like the world in Slated.

And finally, can you tell me a little bit about a book that you know inside out?

I am a huge re-reader, so if I love a book I will read it again and again. But out of all the books I have ever read so many times that Goodreads now will not let me reread (turns out there's a limit) I think I know I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith the best. I have read it at least twice a year since I was fourteen, and I still find something new every time. I can quote whole passages and it's constantly on my mind.

Thanks Cora. Some wonderful books there. I've already talked about The Exact Opposite of Okay a lot here, but I've been meaning to read Asking For It ever since I read Louise O'Neill's Only Ever Yours. And I must read some more of Teri Terry's books.

Do you get emotionally invested in the books you are reading? Would you like to tell us about it? Get in touch and take the Inside Out Challenge!
